Creating Custom Shapes Using the Mouse Pointer

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

When you select to build a shape using the mouse pointer, the application switches to Pointer Definition Mode. In this mode, the mouse pointer becomes a red pen over the drawing area. This mode allows you to define a shape by using the pointer to define an ordered set of points representing a closed polygon. You add points by placing the pointer at the desired position and then clicking the left mouse button. As you add points, the polyline is displayed in the drawing area. The first polyline point is displayed in red. When you are done, click on this first point to close the polyline and commit the resultant shape to the drawing area. This automatically leaves the Pointer Definition Mode. Note that freehand drawing using the pointer generates shapes with imprecise node points.
